I have worked across 4 provinces including Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and now British Columbia. I have worked on variety of large-scale projects including multiple forest management plans, habitat assessments for caribou, bison, marten, barred owl, and a variety of song birds. In addition to this I assisted in developing range planning for the Chinchaga caribou herd by developing methodology to assess key habitat.
Currently I am employed with Strategic Natural Resource Consultants (SNRC) as a Biologist/Forester in Campbell River, British Columbia. Within SNRC I perform a variety of duties including riparian monitoring and restoration, business development, wildlife monitoring, and plant communities modelling. My role within riparian monitoring and restoration include managing the implementation of silvicultural techniques to benefit stream banks, monitoring post treatment areas including some areas within the Ungulate Winter Range, and plan any future treatments within the riparian area to improve its bank stability. My role within plant communities modelling is to using key ecological principles to predict presence absence of species and use this to generate a model to assist in this prediction based off of TEM and PEM related variables.
