North Island College is planning for its future. In 2019, the College is examining its values, priorities and goals through an inclusive strategic planning process.
The creation of new Strategic Plan provides an important opportunity for community members to contribute to a high-level plan that sets North Island College’s major directions for serving the people and communities in our service region.
Plan20-25 replaces Plan2020, which expires in March 2020. It builds on the successes of the previous plan as well as planning and implementation happening across NIC divisions, departments and campuses. Its role is to define our commitments, identify our path and document how we plan to get there.
As part of the plan’s development, NIC is consulting with students, employees and community members on our values, vision, priorities and goals over the next five years. As part of NIC’s commitment to transparency in the strategic planning process, information presented to and learned from the community, is included below.
ThoughtExchange on NIC Values
From April 1 to 12, 2019, NIC launched an employee-wide online forum on our organizational values, to more than 400 employees.
NIC launched its first-ever strategic planning survey from Aug. 20 to Oct. 15, 2019. More than 1,500 students, employees and community members provided feedback on NIC’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities.
Regional Community Forum Presentations
Community members from Mixalakwila, Alberni-Clayoquot, the Comox Valley and Campbell River-Strathcona regions came together at one of four regional community forums November 4 to 7, 2019.
Participants provided valuable feedback, rich discussion and regional perspectives on the opportunities, challenges and goals important for NIC to consider in the development of our next strategic plan.
Forum presentations are below. Feedback on the discussions will be posted in the coming weeks.
